Rentals

First Congregational offers several different, fully-airconditioned spaces suitable for gatherings and/or events.

These include:

 

Fellowship Hall

 

       Located on the lower level of the church, the Fellowship Hall features a full kitchen and ample seating for receptions, family reunions, special event dinners, etc.. The space may be rented for $200.

      It is fully accessible through exterior doors with stairs as well as the elevator, which is reached directly from the parking lot.

Boardman Room

 

 

   For more intimate gatherings, the Boardman Room, located in the upper level of the church, features a carpeted floor, kitchenette, high ceiling and lower lighting. It may be rented for $100.

     It is fully accessible through exterior doors with stairs as well as the elevator, which is reached directly from the parking lot.

Sanctuary

 

     The Sanctuary, beautifully appointed with  stained glass, antique woodwork and pews, antique organ and grand piano, offers a lovely formal setting for sacred services such as wedding, funerals, and special services.

      Located in the upper level of the church, it is fully accessible through exterior doors with stairs as well as the elevator, which is reached directly from the parking lot.

Weddings

Our beautiful sanctuary, with its unique stained-glass dome, antique organ and late-nineteenth-century woodwork,

is the perfect setting for a wedding.

Planning Your Wedding

Rental Fee: The basic sanctuary rental fee of $600 covers both the rehearsal date and the day of the ceremony.

Officiant: You may bring your own officiant, or you may ask our pastor, Rev. Lenore Kure, to officiate. Rev. Lenore's fee is $250, and three premarital counselling sessions are required.

Music: We have both an antique organ and a wonderful grand piano in our sanctuary.  Because of the delicate nature of the organ, only our organist Charles Scroggy may play it. If you would like him to play for your wedding, please contact him at 419-626-6473. His fee is $200. You are welcome to bring your own pianist, but please do not tune our piano.

Decorations: You are welcome to decorate the sanctuary before the ceremony. We ask that you remove the decorations afterwards.




Wedding Tips

Rehearsal:  Be sure to invite: Parents, Organist/Pianist, Attendants and Soloists. 

License: It's a good idea to bring the license to the rehearsal so that it can be filled out for you by the Wedding Day.

Flowers: Be sure to let the church know when the flowers will arrive, so we can arrange for someone to let the florist in.

Photographs and videotaping: Because of limited access to electrical outlets, it is recommended that video cameras be battery operated.

Rice: Please do not throw rice - it is dangerous for birds to eat uncooked rice. Birdseed may be thrown outside, or bubbles may be used.
